On the occasion of the 2014 Journalism Festival, the meeting “Umbria, Protection of an Origin: DOP Extra Virgin Olive Oil” is scheduled for Friday, May 2, at the G. Alessi Services Center (Ex Borsa Merci) at 5:30 pm. This event aims to discuss the landscape and cultural value of DOP Umbria and will feature the participation of:

  • Marco Caprai, President of Confagricoltura Umbria,
  • Carlo Cambi, journalist and gastronomic critic,
  • Udo Gumpel, journalist and correspondent from Italy for RTL,
  • Luigi Caricato, writer, olive oil expert, and journalist.

For accredited journalists, there will be a cocktail hour at Caffè di Perugia on the evening of Friday, May 2, from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm. During this event, they can taste the extra virgin olive oils from our region, including Terre di Grifonetto.

Guided tastings of extra virgin olive oil are also scheduled, with the presence of two tasters from Assoprol, in two historic venues in Perugia: La Bottega del Vino (Via del Sole, 1) and Non c’era (Via Bartolo, 25). The tastings are aimed at presenting your oils to the accredited journalists of the International Journalism Festival (approximately 600). The tastings will take place on the evenings of Thursday, May 1, and Saturday, May 3, from 7:00 pm to 8:15 pm.
